How does Action Words help children to spell?
Because the three pathways are used (visual, auditory and kinaesthetic) the reader has a strong visual image of the whole word in their lexicon.
Also, many of the activities in the Action Words materials focus on spelling the high frequency words correctly - from the initial flash card games of uncovering the words letter by letter and anticipating the whole word, to the word searches, crosswords and other supplementary material.
