Statements and questions
The flashcards are the starting point for teaching the Action Words high frequency words.
A flashcard has a word, image and an explanation of the action. Each explanation is a prompt for using the word in context and developing vocabulary.
We want you to have as much fun as possible as you introduce the children to 5 words each week.
Talking about the character and thinking about the questions and statements the characters make is another way to bring the words to life and add deeper meaning.
So, Bot's created a spreadsheet of awesomeness! Who uses Action Words? Where are they? When did they start using us. It's been very interesting. We've been smiling. A lot. We want to share the smiles but some of this info can be shared and some can't.
What we can't share
We won't name schools without your permission so please do get in touch or comment below if you are an Action Words school. We'd love to celebrate your involvement on twitter and facebook. If you have children who have benefitted from our approach please do help to spread the word.
What we can share
We can share numbers.
We can tell you roughly how many schools in each post code are customers of Action Words.
We thought knowing a bit more about the Action Words characters would help the children to engage with the activities and add to the Action Words experience. So, here they are!
This is our new blog on our new website! The aim of our blog is to help our customers to get the best out of the Action Words Reading Scheme.
We've been working really hard behind the scenes to get our new website working so that we can start posting helpful hints and tips on how to get the best out of Action Words in the classroom and home.
The good news is - we're ready!
So subscribe here or follow us on facebook and twitter so you don't miss out.
