Start the Action Words fun by using the first 5 flash cards with your children.

  • Begin by showing the children the word and picture and demonstrate the action yourself. they will join in and help you to say the word in a phrase or sentence.
  • Try saying the word in different voices; happy, excited, sad or in silly voices; very high or very low or you could even sing the word!
  • Ask them to write the word on their friends back or on their hand. (with their finger, not a pen!)
  • Next time you work with your cards hide the picture and see if the children can remember the word and the action.
  • They can look at the picture to see if their guess was correct.
